A real living space where students, employees and researchers meet, the “Parc de Luminy” offers a whole range of services to facilitate the daily life of Luminyens and visitors. The associations present within the Park’s grounds provide entertainment and a range of activities from sports to the organization of cultural or scientific events that make up the richness of the Park.

Education

More than 10,000 students, with 80 nationalities represented in the Park, benefit from higher education courses taught by nearly 1,000 teachers with courses of excellence as varied as science, sports, engineering, oceanology, management, architecture, and the arts. What they all have in common is that they are oriented towards professionalism, openness to the world and high-level research.

Research

Some thirty laboratories are developing cutting-edge research in synergy with their supervisory institutions which include: Aix-Marseille University, CNRS, Inserm, IRD, INRAE and CEA.
Partnerships and transdisciplinary collaborations are set up between different laboratories on site but also with major French and international research centers. This network is completed by more than fifteen labeled platforms, open to companies.
The fields of research at Luminy include the life sciences, physics, chemistry, mechanics, movement sciences, computer science, mathematics…

The emulation generated by research and teaching, the presence of a business incubator and an incubation system within the Technopole form a complete innovation chain and allow a real dynamism in the creation and development of companies, particularly in the biotechnology sector.
