Demonstrating that an interaction occurs between two proteins is often an essential step in understanding the molecular mechanisms of biological processes.
The Plinius Cursus offers the “In vivo biomolecular interactions” workshop which explores the theoretical and practical aspects of different in vivo methods for demonstrating protein-protein interactions. These include bimolecular fluorescence complementation, proximity labelling and co-immunoprecipitation. The workshop will include a practical component where students will test the interaction of a protein pair by bimolecular fluorescence complementation via transient expression in the plant Nicotiana benthamiana and multicolor microscopy image acquisition and processing.
At the end of the workshop, the PhD student will know the different methods that can be used for analysing protein-protein interactions in vivo, and will have acquired the practical skills for performing and analysing a bimolecular fluorescence complementation experiment.
Timeline
The workshop will take place over 2 days
