Application to biology: what can we learn
Determination of the redox potential of a redox probe, then of a metalloprotein. Influence of pH, ionic strength, T° etc…
Study of an enzymatic reaction by electrochemistry- comparison with spectroscopic assays – Determination of Km, kcat, inhibition constants.
Interaction with the electrode and electrode surface modification to tune the catalysis.
Students prerequisites
- Interest in the subject (they can bring a sample if they want, but this should be discussed beforehand)
At the end of the workshop, the student will be aware what electrochemistry may inform about. She or he will be able to perform some basic electrochemistry with a redox protein.
