PIT2 Platform (Marseille Proteomics)

The PIT2 platform is one of the three components in Marseilles proteomics labelled by the french consortium IBISA , the Cancerole and “Plateforme technologique of Aix Marseille Université”. PIT is specialized in mass spectrometry of biological molecules. Two aspects are represented. The first one is linked to LC/MS/MS of small molecules and more precisely their quantitation. PIT2 is involved in the quantitation of drugs in cells in the domain of bacteriology. The second aspect is linked to MALDI mass spectrometry. This technology allows a precise measure of the molecules from low to very high mass. In this context we are interested in the caracterisation of low molecules in  media such as water from the mediteranean sea and also in small animals such as mussels. We are also involved in the caracterisation of therapeutic antibodies and in the obtention of the drug antibody ratio.

Another aspect of the plateform is linked to maldi imaging. Using this technology we obtained images of molecular contaminants in see mussels. These contaminants were more precisely anticancer drugs.

Finaly PIT2 is also involved in the caracterisation of pesticides and HAP using GC/MS.

PIT2 is located at the floor level of the school of pharmacy

Opening

The platform is opened to academic laboratories and industrials and works by service or collaborative projects.
