Currently, knowledge goes hand in hand with making it known. It is therefore essential for you to develop your skills in the field of scientific media coverage. The Plinius Cursus offers the “Video clip” workshop. Its objective is for participants to develop their skills in the field of scientific mediatization and more particularly the production of video supports. Thus, the operational goal of the workshop is to produce a short video capsule belonging to one of these 3 themes:

– Communication on the researcher’s job
– Information on search techniques
– Dissemination and didactization of research content.

The videos can have different uses, internal promotion, general public dissemination, response to orders in the context of partnerships with institutions or associations, etc

To produce the capsule, you will work on the following processes:

– Selection of relevant data
– Scripting of the subject
– Articulation of contents
– Choice of formatting
– Checking and working with the director

At the end of the workshop, you will have produced a 3-minute video as a group.

Timeline

1. 10 capsules are made per calendar year starting in January. These are produced at the rate of one per month by a group of 4 students.

2. The groups are formed at the beginning of the academic year, between October and November. During this period, each group positions itself on a theme either proposed by the program coordinators or at the initiative of the group members.

3. Each of these groups is supervised, for the scientific content, by a researcher from the institute specialized in the chosen theme.

4. Assistance/supervision for the didactic aspects can be proposed through an exchange with a supervisor or the provision of support tools.

5. The groups benefit for the finalization/production of their capsule from an accompaniment of a director of the institute.
