This course combines theoretical and practical instruction in cell line culture.
Timeline
The first morning will be devoted to a general introduction to the culture of human or animal cell lines (passages, obtaining cell lines, conservation, contamination, good practices, etc.).
The afternoon and following morning will be devoted to practical work in the L2 laboratory: handling under PSM in sterile conditions, microscopic observation of cells in suspension and adherent culture, cell counting, viability counting, passage, freezing and thawing cells, observation by inverted microscope of the expression of a transfected fluorescent protein.
At the end of the workshop, the PhD student shall be able to take care of eukaryotic cell lines: maintain them in culture, how to count and transfect cells, how to freeze and thaw them, how to store them…
