The Plinius Cursus offers the workshop “MedIM” Methods for the Study of Molecular Interactions » “. An annual workshop which enables the students to discover the main biophysical techniques used for the characterisation of molecular interactions (BLI, DLS, DSF, DSC, ITC, MST, EPR, SEC-MALS, MS and SPR).
In this workshop, the student will have access to molecular models from the fields of neuroscience, microbiology and oncology. At the end of the workshop, the PhD student will know how to confirm the interaction between a drug and its target and characterise the interaction between a receptor and its ligand. The student will also appreciate the advantages and limitations of the main methods available on the Marseille platforms.
Timeline
A first theoretical day, open to the scientific community of Marseille (free of charge but registration is required) to present the main biophysical principles of the different technologies. Then practical workshops will allow 12 trainees to discover the equipment on the 3 platforms in Marseille in rotation mode over three days, AFMB, PINT and IMM.
