I'm a teacher-researcher in microbiology specialized in the study of the relationship between food and intestinal bacteria and their environment. I studied biology in Paris, where I obtained a Master's degree in microbiology. I then did a PhD at INRA, during which I identified the molecular actors involved in the ability of Lactococcus cremoris to reduce the redox potential of milk. I then pursued research about the effect of diet on the establishment of commensal and probiotic bacteria in the gut during a post-doctorate at the University of California in Davis. Back to France, I joined the Marseille Institute of Molecular Sciences to work notably on anti-microbial peptide production in the gut. Since my recruitment as “Maître de conferences” at Aix-Marseille Univ in 2020, I've been working at the Laboratoire de Chimie Bactérienne on the metabolic adaptation of lactic acid bacteria in Axel Magalon's team, whose main theme is bacterial respiration. At the same time, I teach microbiology from the bachelor's to the master's level.
