After my studies in Lyon, I did my PhD at AMU, where I focused on the interactions between components of a secretion machinery of the pathogen Pseudomonas aeruginosa. In March 1998, I left to do a post-doc in Brussels. I changed pathogen (Yersinia enterocolitica), secretion process and experimental approach (cellular microbiology). I was appointed Assistant Professor at AMU in September 2000, and returned to my favorite pathogen, P. aeruginosa. Since then, I've been devoting my research to deciphering new mechanisms involved in its virulence, with the long-term aim of countering it with an anti-virulence strategy. I co-lead a research team at LISM (CNRS-AMU), in which it's very important for me to prioritize the quality of human relationships. Along with Laurent Aussel, I'm in charge of AMU's microbiology master's program. Aside from that, I'm a proud mother of my 3 boys (now men), a fan of skiing, Corsica and travel, and I love spending time with my friends... it's what drives me!
