I have prepared my PhD at Paris XI where I was interested in the structures of bacterial LPS of Bordetella and Yersinia genera. I have defended my thesis in 2000 before moving to Oxford University where I have worked on the role of FtsK in the segregation of the bacterial chromosome in E. coli. I have been recruited at Aix-Marseille University as an Associate Professor in 2002. I have first worked on the repair of oxidized proteins in E. coli before developing several tools to monitor and measure reactive oxygens species (ROS) experienced by Salmonella in vitro and in vivo. I'm currently working on the mechanisms of homeostasis, detoxification and adaptation of Salmonella to ROS and metal stress in the group of Benjamin Ezraty. I am also head of the microbiology master's degree at Aix-Marseille University with Sophie Bleves. Last but not least, I love the calanques, the pizza moitié-moitié and Les arènes de Nîmes.
