Participants will learn theoretical and practical aspects of sample preparation and data collection using a super-resolution technique.
Super-resolution techniques allow us to obtain images with a higher resolution than the diffraction limit. Structure Illumination Microscopy (SIM) is a type of light microscopy that uses one of these techniques.
the principles of structure illumination microscopy.
At the end of the workshop, the student will know how a SIM microscope works (OMX SR), its advantages and the limitations. He/She will be able to prepare samples and acquire images with the OMX microscope. We will analyse them to produce a final high-resolution image and we will discuss the results.
