David PIGNOL est directeur de l’Institut Biosciences et biotechnologies d’Aix-Marseille (BIAM), une Unité mixte de recherche spécialisée en biologie végétale et microbiologie environnementale et dépendant du CEA, du CNRS et d’AMU. Ses recherches ont porté tout au long de sa carrière sur le rôle des ions métalliques dans les processus d’adaptation des microorganismes à leur environnement. Ses recherches fondamentales ont conduit à une centaine de publications dont 4 articles dans la revue Science et 1 dans la revue Nature et ont également contribué au développement de pistes de recherche dans le domaine de la surveillance et de la remédiation de l’environnement.

David PIGNOL is Director of the Institut Biosciences et biotechnologies d’Aix-Marseille (BIAM), a joint research unit specializing in plant biology and environmental microbiology, under the auspices of the CEA, CNRS and AMU. Throughout his career, his research has focused on the role of metal ions in the processes by which micro-organisms adapt to their environment. His fundamental research has led to around a hundred publications, including 4 articles in the journal Science and 1 in the journal Nature, and has also contributed to the development of research avenues in the field of environmental monitoring and remediation.
